| The Tarka Project are is bounded by the two well-known and visited
National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor, together with the equally known and visited North
Devon Coast. By comparison, the area in between did not have a clear identity and also gained little economic benefit from tourism. The Tarka Trail acts as a framework for action throughout this area and includes 32 miles of off-road cycle/walkway along former railway lines, footpaths, quiet country lanes and the Tarka Line Exeter-Barnstaple Railway between Eggesford and Barnstaple. |
