Tarka Project Steering Group

The Project Officer answers to a steering group comprised of officers from the principal funding partners and other organisations with an interest in the strategic development of the Project. The Steering group has never had member (Councillor) representation, although the Project hosts an Annual Members Day to update councillors on the current work of the Project. The membership of the steering group has changed over the life of the Project generally reflecting changes in core funding and the direction of the Project's activities. In 1995 the Steering group was re-organised when the promotional and tourism interests within the group were split off to form the steering group for the Tarka Country Tourism Association's Development Officer post (see Tourism Development).
