West Ford Farm cottage is a wing of the original 18th Century Farmhouse, situated in the centre of a 500 acre working dairy farm, approximately 3 miles from Great Torrington (the locals call it Torrington).
Irene and David Daniel welcome guests to observe all the farm activities and wild life in the surrounding countryside.
Access to the Tarka Trail is just five minutes walk away affording over 30 miles of safe cycling and walking. Cycle hire is available locally. The Royal Horticultural Society's National 40 acre garden Rosemoor is nearby. The market town of Torrington is only 3 miles away and is surrounded by 365 acres of common land; the market town has a varied selection of shops and numerous pubs. Safe sandy beaches at Westward Ho! and Instow are a 20 minute drive away. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach. Swimming, golf, fishing and horse riding are all available locally. Further a field in St Austell, Cornwall 1 ½ hours drive away is the famous Eden Project, Bio domes (plant collection from around the world). The accommodation sleeps six persons in 3 double bedrooms, one double, a twin bedded and a bunk bedded room, all with views of the farm and distant rolling hills.
Children are very welcome, cot and high chair are available. Linen and towels are inclusive, electricity is through a £1 coin metre and logs for the wood burner are inclusive. Pets are welcome by arrangement. There is a small enclosed garden and ample off road parking.
Occupation commences from 3 pm on day of arrival, and on day of departure accommodation to be vacated by 10 am. Out of Season Short Breaks are available:- Fri/Sat/Sun or Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs from £195. Reductions for couples.

Other attractions include the famous glass factory Dartington Crystal and the latest being the 1646 Civil War Heritage Centre (a living museum).
A very comfortable beamed lounge with colour T.V, awaits you, and for the cooler days and evenings you can either enjoy the benefits of a real wood burning stove or full central heating which is inclusive. There is a large farmhouse kitchen/dinning room with electric cooker, microwave cooker, washing machine/drier. Bathroom/with shower and WC.
